Research Interests
After completing his bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering-biotechnology from the University of California at San Diego with a Summa Cum Laude, Dr. Nguyen continued his education at the University of Southern California where he obtained his MS and PhD degrees, both in bioengineering. His PhD training specialized in ultrasound beamforming, transducer design and fabrication, and contrast enhancement. He had an internship at Philips Research North America (New York) where he gained experiences in ultrasound speckle tracking and elastography.
He joined UPMC as a post-doc associate in 2013 where he continues to expand his research knowledge in animal study, thermal strain imaging, photo-acoustic imaging, and micro-bubble imaging.
