Research Interests
After obtaining his PhD from Yale in 1991, Dr. Chen began his postdoctoral fellowship in Electrical Engineering and Cardiology at the University of Rochester. After finishing his fellowship he became an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Scientist of Electrical Engineering, and finally Research Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester. Dr. Chen joined the University of Pittsburgh in 2006 as a Research Associate Professor of Medicine.
Dr. Chen’s research interests focus in radiation force theory, nonlinear intravascular ultrasound, and ultrasound-mediated drug and gene delivery. He specializes in ultrasound molecular imaging and therapeutics and contrast echocardiography.
