Dr. Fu completed her doctoral education studying polymer science at Wuhan University in China. In 2008, she came to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center to study and develop contrast agent microbubble design under Dr. Jianjun Wang with a special interest in polymer-based microbubbles. Currently she is investigating microbubble-mediated delivery of therapeutics, specifically genes and drugs, using ultrasound. Furthermore, Dr. Fu is interested in developing a method for tracking the longitudinal fate of therapeutic stem cells using novel applications of microbubble contrast agents.
