Research Interests
Dr. Ramasamy’s research focuses on the design and nanoengineering of novel nanocarriers for the effective delivery of active therapeutics in diseased tissues. His key interests include the investigation of mechanistic pathways in cancer cell death, in-depth analysis of biodistribution of carriers in clinical animal models, and formulating new strategies for the treatment of multiple solid tumors. His current emphasis at the Center for Ultrasound Molecular Imaging and Therapeutics is on the fabrication of microbubbles for the targeted delivery of microRNA for treatment of cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
